Founded in 1975 in Belgium, IGI has established itself as a trusted authority in the industry, particularly excelling in the laboratory-grown diamond sector, where it commands a significant 65% market share.

As of September 30, 2024, IGI operates a robust global network comprising 31 branches with state-of-the-art laboratories located in 10 countries, including key markets such as India, Belgium, the USA, Thailand, the UAE, Hong Kong, and China. This extensive infrastructure enables IGI to deliver efficient services to its diverse clientele. The institute has also embraced cutting-edge technologies to refine its grading systems. Notably, the Dcheck System, launched in 2018, distinguishes between laboratory-grown and natural diamonds.
