Capital Infra Trust, formerly National Infrastructure Trust, was established on 25th September 2023 with the primary goal of pursuing activities and investments in accordance with SEBI InvIT Regulations. The sponsor of the Trust, Gawar Construction Limited (GCL), is a leading infrastructure development and construction company in India specializing in roads and highway projects. Operating in 19 states, GCL works with prestigious government and semi-government bodies such as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA), and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

Since 2008, Gawar Construction has completed more than 100 road construction projects. As of September 2024, the company oversees a portfolio of 26 Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road projects with NHAI. This portfolio comprises 11 completed projects, including five acquired assets previously held by Sadbhav Infrastructure Project, and 15 under-construction projects.

By 30th September 2024, the Initial Portfolio Assets of Capital Infra Trust include approximately 682.425 km of completed and operational roads spread across Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. These projects are owned, operated, and maintained by the respective Project SPVs.
